Duct Cleaning
7 Signs Your Air Ducts Need Cleaning

Your ductwork is hidden behind walls and ceilings, so it’s easy to forget about — until something feels off. The good news is your home usually gives you clues when your ducts are overdue for a cleaning. Here are seven of the most common ones.
1. Dust settles again right after you clean
If you dust on Monday and surfaces are coated again by the weekend, your ducts may be pushing dust back into your rooms every time the furnace runs.
2. Visible dust around the vents
Take a look at your supply and return registers. Streaks of dust or debris around the grilles are a tell-tale sign of buildup inside.
3. Allergy or asthma flare-ups indoors
If sneezing, congestion, or coughing gets worse at home, recirculating dust, pollen, and pet dander in your ducts could be the culprit.
4. Musty or stale smells
Odours that kick in when the furnace or A/C turns on often point to dust, moisture, or even mould inside the ductwork.
5. Uneven heating between rooms
When some rooms never seem to warm up, restricted airflow from clogged ducts is a common cause.
6. Higher energy bills
A system choked with dust has to work harder to push air through, and that extra effort shows up on your utility bill.
7. Pets, renovations, or a recent move
Lots of fur, recent construction dust, or simply not knowing the home’s history are all good reasons to get your ducts checked.
If a few of these sound familiar, it’s probably time. A professional cleaning clears the buildup and gets your air — and your furnace — flowing freely again.
